How do I readmit to NVCC?

Readmit students are those who have previously been accepted and who have attended Mattatuck Community College, Waterbury State Technical College or Naugatuck Valley Community- Technical College, but who have been away from the College for a two year period. Learn more here.

When is the add/drop period?

Once a student is registered, course changes will be permitted through the Open and Late Registration dates and times. See the following semesters for specific dates: Fall - Spring - Summer

When are my semester grades available?

Semester grades are viewable and printable via the web at www.my.commnet.edu approximately one week after the exam period.

To print out your Student Transcript and/or Final Grades using

  1. Logon to http://my.commnet.edu
  2. Login using your NetID
  3. Go to the Student Tab
  4. Click on the “Student Self Service” Channel
  5. Click on “Student Records”
  6. Click on “Final Grades”, select term then submit OR
  7. Click on “Academic Transcript”, select level (CCC Credit), then submit
  8. View/Print your final grades/transcript
  9. Exit from the website

Students may request to have their grades mailed to their home address by completing a Grade Report Request Form.

What is the refund policy?

Refund of Tuition for General Fund Credit Courses
For notice of withdrawal received prior to the first day of college classes for that semester, a refund of 100 percent of total tuition will be granted for both full-time and part-time students.

For notice of withdrawal received on the first day of classes and through the 14th calendar day of that semester, both full-time and part-time students will be granted a 50 percent refund of total tuition applicable to the courses for which they are registered.

For a reduction in load, which occurs on the first day of classes and through the 14th calendar day of that semester, 50 percent of the difference of the tuition applicable to the original and revised course schedule will be refunded.

Non-refundable Fees
The college services fee and student activity fee paid by all students registering for credit general fund/tuition account courses, are non-refundable, except when course sections are cancelled by the College.

Also, the following special fees are non-refundable:

  • application fee/program enrollment fee
  • late registration fee
  • graduation fee
  • replacement of lost ID card fee
  • academic evaluation fee
  • portfolio assessment fee

How do I obtain a transcript?

Transcript request must be in writing and should include your name, maiden name if applicable, address, phone number and social security number, the complete address of where you want your record sent and your signature.

When do I apply for Graduation?

Students who anticipate completing the requirements for an Associate Degree and/or a Certificate, must submit a Graduation Application by December 1st for January conferal and February 15th for May conferal of the year they plan to graduate, whether or not they will be attending the graduation ceremony.

When do I receive my diploma?

Diplomas will be mailed to graduates approximately four weeks following the commencement ceremony.
