Waterbury, Conn. - The Max R. Traurig Library at Naugatuck Valley Community College will continue the literature series Read to Me on Thursday, October 29, at 12 p.m.
The free program will feature seasonal and “spooky” literature and poetry including dramatizations of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven and The Telltale Heart by the NVCC Theater Department and the Stage Society.
“Read to Me is a great opportunity to connect different NVCC programs and encourage discussions between faculty, students and the community outside of classrooms,” said Christine Mangone, instructor of theater. “My students have enjoyed the challenge of investigating the different dynamics and rhythms inherent in Edgar Allan Poe’s stories that really make his works come alive when read out loud.”
The audience will have the opportunity to interact with the readers and share their own thoughts and feelings about the selections read.
The event is open to the public and will take place in room L524 of the Max R. Traurig Library/Learning Resources Center. Light refreshments will be served.
