| Donna Palomba to Speak at Naugatuck Valley Community College Sexual Abuse Awareness Seminar
Waterbury, Conn. - The Human Services Club at Naugatuck Valley Community College will host the third in a series of sexual assault awareness seminars from 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday, April 23rd in the Atrium of the Fine Arts Center.
This year’s keynote speaker is Donna Palomba, founder of Jane Doe No More. There will also be representatives from the Waterbury Police Department sex crimes unit, Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, and Wellpath Behavioral Health.
Donna Palomba came forward for the first time in public to tell her story and launch Jane Doe No More on Sunday, April 29, 2007 on Dateline NBC.
The event is recommended for adults and young adults aged 15 and older. Refreshments will be served. Admittance and parking are free but seating is limited. Appropriate ages: 15 years and older.
The NVCC Human Services Club runs annual and biannual conferences in an attempt to educate students and the community at large about issues that impact all of us. In past years the club has had conferences and educational forums on domestic violence and child abuse.
