| Naugatuck Valley Community College Celebrates Black History Month
Waterbury, Conn. – Naugatuck Valley Community College is celebrating Black History Month on Monday, February 9, with a black inventions exhibit from 9-5 p.m. and a performance by musical group Historic Soul at 12:15 p.m. The exhibit will be displayed in the fifth floor walkway and the performance will take place in Café West. Both areas are located in the Joseph V. Cistulli Student Center.
Historic Soul reminds audiences of the humor in American music starting with the blues and then revisiting the origins of rock and roll with Little Richard, Chuck Barry and Ray Charles. The group also celebrates the different styles of rhythm and blues, Motown, southern soul and disco.
