| Local VIPs and Media Gather for “Communications Connections for the 21st Century” at Naugatuck Valley Community College
Waterbury, Conn. – Local VIPS and media members will take part in a panel discussion, “Communication Connections for the 21st Century,” on Thursday, October 16, from 10:30-12:00 p.m. in the Naugatuck Valley Community College Mainstage Theater.
Communications Connections is a free gathering for students and current and prospective members of the business community. The discussion will focus on the communication skills needed to succeed in today’s workplace.
“We’re excited to have such a versatile group of communications professionals leading a discussion that will benefit students, faculty, staff and the communities we serve,” said Lisa Shuchter, Ed.D., acting division director of arts and humanities.
The event will be moderated by Paul Singley, staff writer for the Waterbury Republican-American and instructor of communications at Naugatuck Valley Community College.

“The ever-evolving field of communications lends itself to the way we all think and express ourselves,” said Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D., president of Naugatuck Valley Community College. “The increased use of the Internet, alternate media and new forms of media will expand our students’ view of the world.”
