One-Day Express Registration at Naugatuck Valley Community College

Waterbury, Conn. – Naugatuck Valley Community College is making registration as convenient as possible this fall for new and prospective students.

In addition to extended hours in August, the college has added a “One-Day Express Registration” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, at the third floor plaza, which is centrally located on the main campus.  The academic term begins on Tuesday, September 2.

The One-Day Express Registration will allow students to apply to the college, take the placement exam, meet with an advisor, register for courses, speak with a financial aid representative and pay for classes in only a few hours.  There will also be campus tours and orientations available in the morning.

“The students have asked for a more streamlined registration process and we’re doing everything in our power to make it as efficient as possible,” said James Daniels, dean of student services.  “It can take the edge off of coming back to school, just knowing that you can take care of all your needs in one visit.”

The College will provide a free lunchtime “barbeque” for registrants at the plaza.  Lunch will be prepared and served by a local restaurant and a popular Connecticut radio station will play music and offer contests.  All students who register will also be entered into drawings for a laptop, gas card and gift certificate to the school bookstore.

In order to complete the entire registration process, students are asked to arrive before 2 p.m. Students can also apply online at www.nvcc.commnet.edu before August 23 to get a head start on the process.

In addition to Saturday registration, the college will also extend its office hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 26-28 and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. September 2-4 and 8-9, which is the last day to add classes.

“This is a great opportunity for students to enroll quickly and easily,” said Daniels.   “We know that our students have busy lives that include work and family, among other things.  We want to be as accommodating as possible to our community.”

Parking is available at the West Entrance in the MainStage and Playbox Theatre parking garage.  For directions or more information on registration call (203)575-8040 or visit our website at www.nvcc.commnet.edu
