NVCC May Calendar of Events

 

WATERBURY, Conn. (April 17, 2008) – The following is the May calendar of events for Naugatuck Valley Community College:

MONDAY, MAY 12

Naugatuck Valley Community College is holding free hour-long information sessions and campus tours on Monday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about how career advancement, additional training and degree programs.

The sessions will take place at Kinney Hall, Room K505, on the college’s main campus, 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. No appointment is necessary. For more information about the information sessions and tours, call (203) 575-8040.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 14

The Greater Waterbury Nursing Consortium invites local nurses and nursing students to attend “Nurses Lead the Way,” a free event in celebration of National Nursing Week on Wednesday, May 14 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Community College Fine Arts Center’s Mainstage Theater, 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

Highlighting the event will be an interactive program called “From Wedding Rings to Nose Rings ... Generational Differences,” presented by speaker, Faith Roberts, RN, BSN. The evening will conclude with the presentation of “Building Bridges” awards to nurses and nursing students who have demonstrated an understanding of diversity across generations, value different views, support the sharing of expertise, and accommodate the needs and values of coworkers of different generations.

TUESDAY, MAY 27

Naugatuck Valley Community College is holding its annual Honors Night on Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m. in the Mainstage Theater in NVCC’s Fine Arts Center on the college’s main campus, 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

Honors Night 2008 will spotlight achievements made throughout the year by both graduating and returning students. In addition to scholarships and awards for academic excellence, the ceremony will include memorial scholarships and industry awards that recognize students of distinction.

THURSDAY, MAY 29

Naugatuck Valley Community College will hold its spring commencement on Thursday, May 29, at 6 p.m. Hundreds of NVCC students will be awarded associate degrees and certificates during the ceremony, which will take place in Lot C at Kinney Hall on the college’s main campus, located at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury.
