| It’s not too late for New Year Resolutions… or registrations
WATERBURY, Conn. (Jan. 28, 2008) – Whether you’re looking for a way to decompress, get back into shape or pick up a new hobby, NVCC is offering a series of professional and personal enrichment classes this winter to help you be resolute in the New Year.
Starting in February, you can take anything from cake decorating to piano to property flipping at the college. There are also a number of professional development courses being offered, from basic computer applications to health care and real estate certifications.
The college has added a whole series of Gardening/Landscaping classes, from Gardening Basics to Design Your Own Herb Garden. The popular Wine/Viticulture class also returns for anyone interested in the art of making wine.
The Health & Fitness program has also been expanded to include cardio fitness, pilates, kickboxing, Liquid Strength Fitness and JIAYA, which uses such dance forms as the Merengue, Salsa, Hip Hop and Swing to add rhythm to your workout. The college also offers ballroom dancing, belly dancing and hip hop for youth.
Last year, over 63,000 non-credit students were registered at local community colleges statewide. This year, there were more than 6,200 registrations at NVCC for one or more personal enrichment or workforce development programs.
