April events at NVCC

WATERBURY (March 17, 2007) — The following is a calendar of April events at Naugatuck Valley Community College, which serves 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury:

SUNDAY, APRIL 1

The Connecticut Cactus and Succulent Society is holding the second day of its two-day annual sale and show on Sunday, April 1, at Naugatuck Valley Community College, 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

The show will be held in the fifth-floor cafeteria inside the Fine Arts Center at NVCC. Admission is free. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free plants will be given to the first 50 attendees or families.

The show features displays, auctions, educational demonstrations and 20-minute lectures on a variety of topics, including, “Hardy Cacti for the Connecticut Garden.” For more information, visit www.ctcactusclub.com or call (860) 489-8356.

MONDAY, APRIL 9

Naugatuck Valley Community College is holding free hour-long information sessions and campus tours on Monday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for those interested in learning more about how its course offerings can help advance their careers through additional training and degree programs.

The sessions will take place at Kinney Hall, Room K505, on the college’s main campus, which is located at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury off exit 18 on Interstate 84. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call (203) 575-8294.
