NVCC opens on a Saturday for last-minute registrations
Special Jan. 20 event designed to help working students
WATERBURY (Jan. 16, 2007) — For the first time ever, Naugatuck Valley Community College will open its doors on a Saturday for last-minute registrations for its spring semester to help working students who cannot attend weekday registrations.
The special event, open to new and returning students, will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 5th floor of Kinney Hall on NVCC’s main campus, 750 Chase Parkway.
NVCC’s spring semester begins Thursday, Jan. 18, but the college allows for late, walk-in registration. Before this year, late registration was limited to weekdays for one week after classes begin.
“This year, we decided to also offer a Saturday late registration because so many of our students also hold jobs that make it difficult for them to register during the week,” said James E. Daniels, dean of student services.
In addition to Saturday’s event, the college is also open until 7 p.m. to help with last-minute registration Jan. 16-18 and Jan. 22-25. Online registration continues through Jan. 25 www.my.commnet.edu for returning students.
For more information on late registration, call the Office of Dean of Students at (203) 575-8257.
Located off exit 18 on Interstate 84, NVCC serves more than 10,000 credit and non-credit students from 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury.
