Registration is open for NVCC’s spring health care courses
WATERBURY (Jan. 10, 2007) — Registration is now open for dozens of spring courses at Naugatuck Valley Community College to help health care professionals update their skills or add new ones.
This spring’s continuing education courses in health care include training for nurses, radiologic technologists, certified nurse aides, patient care technicians, phlebotomy technicians and other health care professionals.
Some courses begin as soon as this month, while others begin in February, March and April. Interested individuals are urged to register now to ensure a seat by visiting www.nvcc.commnet.edu or calling (203) 575-8029.
NVCC’s Health Care Careers catalog , which lists all of this spring’s non-credit health care courses, is now available online at www.nvcc.commnet.edu. Hard copies are also available by calling (203) 575-8029.
Those interested in learning more about NVCC’s health care career education programs are encouraged to attend a free information session on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Café West on the main campus, located at 750 Chase Parkway. The snow date for the session is Thursday, Feb. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the same location.
In addition to continuing education programs for those already working in health care, NVCC also offers proficiency certificates for certified nurse aides, patient care technicians, administrative medical specialists and medical transcriptionists. It also offers associate degrees in nursing, radiologic technology, respiratory care and for physical therapy assistants.
Located off exit 18 on Interstate 84, NVCC serves 35 communities from Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury to Litchfield.
