NVCC Choir to sing with Andy Williams in his Dec. 20 Christmas show in Wallingford
The NVCC Choir, who sang with Andy Williams at his Dec. 20 Christmas Show at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, pose with him that night.
WATERBURY (Dec. 15, 2006) — Members of the Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir will sing with Andy Williams in the “Andy Williams Christmas Show” on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford.
The show aims to re-create the magic from the holiday television specials that helped Williams earn the nickname “Mr. Christmas.”
The repertoire will include songs like, “O Holy Night,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Silent Night,” other Christmas favorites, as well as some numbers that Williams only performs at his Moon River Theatre in Branson, Mo.
“We will sing back-up vocals while Mr. Williams has solos, and we’ll sing verses in between his solos,” said NVCC Choir Director Richard Gard.
In all, 24 members of the NVCC Choir will perform. The NVCC Choir includes both music students, as well as highly talented local residents who make music an integral part of their lives. As a result, choir members range in age from 18 to 64.
This will not be the first time the NVCC Choir performs at the Chevrolet Theatre. The choir performed there in 2004 with the Kenny Rogers Christmas show.
