NVCC voicemail out of service until next week
College asks for patience while hard drive failure is repaired
WATERBURY (July 22, 2006) — Students and others calling Naugatuck Valley Community College since Friday, July 21, may have found their calls went unanswered due to a hard drive failure in NVCC’s voicemail system.
Because the voicemail system is down, calls placed to phone numbers at NVCC may ring and ring, even if the person is there, but on the phone. NVCC is asking all callers to be patient and re-dial if there is no answer.
Repairs are underway, but they are not expected to be completed until next week.
Students who need to apply, register or review course schedules while the voicemail system is down are encouraged to use the college’s Web site, www.nvcc.commnet.edu. A student “Banner ID” number will be required.
To help address the voicemail shutdown, the college has installed answering machines on many of its most frequently used phone numbers. However, it’s unlikely the answering machines will be able to handle all the incoming calls NVCC receives. The college apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for callers’ patience until the problem is fixed.
NVCC serves 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury. Its 110-acre campus is located off exit 18 on Interstate 84.
