WATERBURY (June 19, 2006) — If you’ve always wanted to give kayaking a try, but have put it off because you didn’t know where to begin, consider one of two kayaking courses offered this summer through Naugatuck Valley Community College.
The first course begins June 28. The second begins July 19. Each costs $119 and consists of a two-hour classroom session on a Wednesday evening and a two-hour Saturday kayaking outing on the Farmington River in Collinsville. Kayaks and safety equipment are provided for the on-river session.
Experts from Collinsville Canoe & Kayak will introduce students to one of the country’s fastest growing water sports by teaching them various paddle techniques and safety issues.
