All too often, parents and students make the assumption that they will not qualify for any
type of financial aid. That's a mistake! Financial aid comes in many different forms, from
free money (in the form of grants and scholarships) to low-interest loans to work
programs. The only people who are assured not to receive aid are those who do not apply.

The Financial Aid staff at NVCC understands that financing a college education is a
confusing, sometimes frightening experience. We look forward to assisting you and doing
our best to deliver high quality service to you. You can help us by completing your
application materials as soon after January 1st as possible.
The NVCC Financial Aid Office subscribes to the basic philosophy that it is the primary
responsibility of the parents (of dependent students) and the student to pay for higher
education expenses. If your financial aid award does not cover the amount of your college
fee bill, you will be responsible for paying the difference.
Please contact us for additional information on types of aid available, as well as
eligibility criteria.
