Home Schoolers

Naugatuck Valley Community College welcomes the qualified home-educated student seeking admission to the College. The College is an open-enrollment admissions institution with selective placement into programs and courses.

The College defines a home-educated applicant as a person who has graduated from a home schooling program that meets the minimum requirements of his/her local school district.

The College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) SuggestionsPDF list provides a list of courses which would enrich the home-educated student's experience and provide a solid basis for a positive academic experience at the College. Course suggestions are based on the State of Connecticut Board of Education Common Core of Learning standards and the graduation requirements for area high schools.

The Naugatuck Valley Community College Home-Educated College Preparatory Credit EvaluationPDF should be completed and submitted with the completed Naugatuck Valley Community College Application for Admission. This information will assist College Admissions staff with the advising process for course registration.

Information is provided to assist the home-educated student with the Admissions Application Process. Questions? Concerns? Please contact the Admissions Office at (203) 575-8040 or click here.
